Since 2005, we have been keeping bees in our backyard, supplying our friends and family with the very best handmade raw honey, keeping all the natural goodness that is associated with pure raw bee honey. The wonders of bees and their generosity in return for good care and accommodation have made our hobby grow, allowing us to share their gifts widely.
Keeping bees was a childhood hobby for me, which I nurtured since I studied agriculture at university. Beekeeping is a lovely pastime, although you need to get accustomed to the occasional sting. As bees grow naturally each year, in response to good care and support, so will our ability to produce more of the liquid gold that they give us.  We handle our bees and honey with the greatest of care, while preserving all the goodness it holds. We only use hand-powered equipment and do not apply any heat at any stage of the production process.
Our honey is as natural as it gets and has only been through a sieve twice to separate residual wax. Wax holds the honey together in the honeycomb, and bee’s wax is entirely natural. We store honey in sterile glass bottles and seal them with lids to preserve all the goodness. On occasion, we can provide honey in the comb, for those who prefer it that way.
All our bees are housed in wooden hives, and all containers we use are stainless steel or BPA-free food grade plastic. It is a naturally sustainable product, as long as we all care for the bees.
Mallawa Apiary honey comes to you from hives located in Jerrabomberra, Kambah and Wamboin. All have an abundant supply of gum trees and other nectar carrying flora. We love caring for bees and cherish the opportunity to give you the best raw honey which varies naturally from season to season, bringing you a range of delightful colours, tastes and consistencies. They always remain 100% natural, as is the way bees make it. We only take what is in excess to their needs which helps them stay healthy and cheerful.
Your custom will help us keep them buzzing.
